Indore: Much-needed relief from scorching heat

Clouds on Thursday provided a much-needed relief to residents from the scorching heat and pulled the temperature down by 4 degrees Celsius as compare to the temperature recorded on Wednesday.

Indore: Clouds on Thursday provided a much-needed relief to residents from the scorching heat and pulled the temperature down by 4 degrees Celsius as compare to the temperature recorded on Wednesday.

Moreover, the temperature dropped below 40 degrees Celsius after 25 days. Citizens also got relief from the increasing night temperature which dropped by 3 degrees Celsius as compare to Wednesday night’s temperature.

According to regional meteorological department officials, weather would remain cloudy and the city will witness light showers and gusty winds in next couple of days.

“City would witness pre-monsoon activities and day temperature would remain below 40 degrees Celsius but the night temperature may increase,” met officials said.

Meanwhile, the rise in humidity irked people throughout the day as the weather caused too much sweating.

On Thursday, winds blew at a speed of 12 to 14 kilometres per hour, which also added to relief. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius, which was one degree above normal. The minimum temperature remained at 26.4 degrees Celsius which was 1 degree Celsius above the normal.

The humidity on Thursday morning was recorded at 66 per cent and 38 per cent in the evening.
