Indore: Fire breaks out on third floor in busy Ada Bazaar

Indore: A fire broke out in a godown situated on the third floor of a commercial building that caused panic in busy Ada Bazaar area on Wednesday morning. However, no casualty was reported during the incident but goods worth lakhs were gutted. The incident took place at the office cum godown of Simranjeet Singh in Holkar Market in Ada Bazaar around 8 am. Mother Narender Kaur Khalsa said son Simranjeet had gone for morning walk when she received call about the incident. She immediately informed Simranjeet and reached the office with him when the fire fighters were on the third floor and their operation was on.

Simranjeet runs wholesale business of garments and his office is situated on third floor where fire broke out. Goods worth over 10 lakh and furniture were gutted. The fire broke out due to suspected electric short circuit. No casualty was reported during the incident as no one was there in the morning time. The fire fighters had to face tough situation as the building is situated in narrow road. Sources claimed that fire fighters reached spot after 25 minutes late due to which the flames turned intense and goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted. Some people said fire fighters could not track the spot so they took 20 minutes to reach there. According to fire brigade officials, two tankers of water were used to douse flames within two hours.

Fire in a locked house
Another incident occurred in Malharganj where fire broke out in a house in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. The fire fighters took more than five hours to completely extinguish the flames. Fire brigade officials said incident took place at a house in street number 2 in Malharganj at 1.40 am. The local residents spotted the flames and heavy smoke when they tried to extinguish the flames.

People later informed fire brigade. Three tender machines along with three water tankers were immediately sent there. The house belongs to Rajkumar Rathore but he doesn’t live there. As the house was locked, no casualty was reported. Fire fighters had to use 13 tankers of water to douse flames. The local police was also informed by the residents. The police are investigating the case to know the exact reason behind the incident.
