Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), which had announced plans to launch three BSc (honours) courses from session 2019- 20, has shelved the idea. The reason? “The announcement was made without taking necessary permissions,” said registrar Anil Sharma.
Admission cell of DAVV had announced plans to introduce three BSc (Hons) courses one each being run by School of Physics, School of Chemistry and School of Instrumentation in association with School of Data Science and forecasting. But the idea was dropped following the registrar’s objection.
Sharma said that teaching departments have not followed the process to launch the new programmes. “Firstly, permission of the planning and evolution board is to be obtained then the same is presented before standing committee.
Finally, the executive council gives its nod,” the registrar added. He said the teaching departments had obtained permission only of standing committee and were launching the courses so he objected. DAVV admission cell chairman VB Gupta stated that the new courses would be launched only after completion of process in place.
