On day one of filing nomination, three candidates filed papers before district election officer Lokesh Kumar Jatav on Monday. The candidates including Shailendra Sharma, Parmanand Tolani and Naseer Mohammad have filed nominations as independent candidates. Congress candidate Pankaj Sanghvi is likely to file his nomination on April 26 whereas BJP candidate Shankar Lalwani stated that he had not decided date as yet.

District collector Lokesh Kumar Jatav said entry of vehicles is prohibited in 100- metre distance from returning officer’s office. The nominations could be submitted till April 29. Nomination papers scrutiny would be held on April 30. May 2 is the last date for withdrawing nomination. On the same day, election symbols would be allocated to candidates. For Indore seat, polling would be held on May 19 and results would be declared on May 23.
