KHANDWA : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with the managing director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) Hariranjan Rao and other officers here on Friday visited the ongoing 10-day Jal Mahostav being organised by MPTDC in order to promote tourism in the state.
On the occasion, Chauhan said that Hanuwantia will be developed as a world class tourist place within a year. “Sustainable development in the field of tourism is our priority. And we will develop this tourist spot as a world class place,” said the Chief Minister who had chaired a cabinet meeting here on a cruise boat two weeks ago.
Later, Chauhan, along with his wife Sadhna, enjoyed boating and a bullock cart ride at Hanuwantia Tapu.
Apart from cultural programmes, various adventure activities including aero adventure, water sports, island camping, Burma bridge, volleyball, tug-of-war, tyre swing, cycle tours, kite flying and rope drill (valley crossing) have been on offer at the festival.
CM inaugurates ‘Hindustan Ka Dil Dekho’
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan here on Friday inaugurated an exhibition based on the theme of ‘Hindustan Ka Dil Dekho’ at the newly developed tourist spot Hanuwantia.
Apart from craft articles, marble rocks of Bhedaghat, Barah Khambe of Narsinghpur, Jain temple of Sonagiri, attires of tribal women of Dindori region, Bhagoria dance of Jhabua, famous monuments of Orchha, and portraits of animals found in the state are the highlights of the exhibition. Earlier on Vasant Panchami, the 10-day Jal Mahostav was inaugurated by CM Chauhan in the presence of Union minister for urban development Venkaihya Naidu.
