Indore : Fire broke out late on Wednesday night at Ruchi Soya plant located in Mangaliya. The fire gutted material and equipment worth crores and the flames could be seen from a distance.
According to the Fire Brigade Police, the fire broke out around 1:45 am and created panic in the area. The fire spread quickly and soon the flames could be seen from afar.
Fire Brigade was called and efforts were made to douse the fire without success. Soon 30 fire fighters with fire trucks reached the spot and began dousing the fire. It took 28 water tankers, 1500 litres of foam and seven hours of hard work to douse the fire.
The reason of the fire is not known as yet but short circuit is said to be the cause. However, the godowns of soybean and underground tanks containing highly inflammable material were spared and a major tragedy was averted.
