Indore : Aerodrome police arrested seven members of a gang, on Wednesday and recovered two knives and bikes from their possession. The accused were planning to rob a truck driver but they failed. They are being questioned for other such incidents.
According to the police, truck driver Kallu Khan of Dewas was going from Loha Mandi to Nagda to deliver iron rods late on Monday night when seven miscreants, on four bikes intercepted him on Super Corridor. They threatened him at knife point and asked to hand over money and other valuables. Terrified by the miscreants, the truck driver tried to increase speed and drove towards Gandhi Nagar. The miscreants also chased him but they could not catch him as two policemen patrolling there, gave information to police control room on wireless set. Later, a police team reached there and nabbed five of the miscreants after cordoning the area. On Wednesday, the police arrested two other accused and seized two knives, two bikes from their possession, which was used in the crime.
The police arrested seven accused— Manish Athak of Patel Nagar, Akash Chouhan of Vaishnodevi Nagar, Deepak Prajapat of Vyas Nagar, Himanshu Chouhan of Vijay Shree Nagar, Raju Lodhi of Vyas Nagar, Yogesh and Rohit Saini of Jai Shree Nagar. They were booked under Section 393, 398 of the IPC.
DIG Santosh Kumar Singh announced a cash reward for the police team for the arrest of the accused.
