Winter Session of Andhra Pradesh assembly to begin today

Hyderabad : The Winter Session of Andhra Pradesh Legislature will begin on Thursday here.

The five-day session is likely to be stormy as the recent issues like Call Money and liquor deaths are likely to be taken for discussion.

The state government is planning to introduce about half a dozen bills including the Private Universities Bill during the session.

The proposed Private Universities Bill will enable setting up of Universities in a big way by private education institutes.

The recent heavy rains and floods besides agriculture conditions in the state, construction of New Capital-Amaravathi will also likely to come up for discussion.

However, the Business Advisory Committee under the Chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Dr. Shivaprasada Rao will meet this morning to decide on the agenda and possibility of extension of the session by one or two days.

The Opposition YSR Congress has been asking for conducting the session at least for 10 days. It will move an adjournment motion notice in the Assembly on the Call Money issue.
