Berhampur (Odisha): The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and Berhampur University here have rescheduled their examinations in Odisha due to ensuing assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Plus III (First year) examination, conducted by the university and scheduled for April 4 to 23, will now be held from April 21 to May 7.

Second and fourth semester exams of post-graduate departments have been rescheduled. They will start from April 21 and end on May 7, varsity sources said.

All the exams scheduled for April 10 stand cancelled. The new dates would be notified soon, said controller of examinations, Manmath Nath Padhy.

All the examinations will be completed before start of summer vacation on May 10, said Vice-chancellor Deepak Kumar Behera.

There will be two-phase polls in Odisha. Elections to 10 LS and 70 assembly seats will be held on April 10. The rest 11 LS and 77 assembly seats will go to polls on April 17.

Keeping in view the poll schedule, NIOS has revised dates for secondary and senior secondary examinations. Exams on all poll dates are cancelled. According to new schedule, exams will start from March 24, said regional director, NIOS (Bhubaneswar centre), Jagdish Sahu.
