New Delhi : The National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) has constituted four regional committees to keep a tab on the institutions imparting education and degrees made mandatory for the school teachers.
The western regional committee based in Bhopal has jurisdiction over Madhya Pradesh as well as on Goa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
The northern regional committee based in Jaipur has jurisdiction over Rajasthan as well as over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Chandigarh.
The two other eastern and southern regional committees based in Bhubaneshwar and Bengaluru respectively have jurisdiction over all eastern and southern states respectively.
The changes are effected through the NCTE Regulations, 2017.
