BJP MP Kangana Ranaut stated in an X post on Thursday that she deleted a social media post about PM Modi and former US President Donald Trump after BJP president JP Nadda asked her to do so.
Taking to X, she wrote, "Respected national president JP Nadda called and asked me to delete the tweet I had posted regarding Trump advising Apple CEO Tim Cook not to manufacture in India. I regret posting that very personal opinion of mine. As per his instructions, I immediately deleted it from Instagram as well."
The now-deleted post had questioned Donald Trump’s intentions behind his advice to Apple CEO Tim Cook, urging him not to manufacture in India. Responding to a post about Trump’s recent statement, Kangana had written, "What could be the reason for this loss of affection? He is an American president, but the world’s most loved leader is the Indian Prime Minister. Trump’s second term vs. the Indian Prime Minister’s third term. Undoubtedly, Trump is an alpha male, but our PM is ‘sab alpha male ka baap.’ What do you think? Is this personal jealousy or diplomatic insecurity?"
This is not the first time BJP chief JP Nadda has had to intervene to rein in Kangana’s remarks. In August last year, she was summoned to Nadda’s residence and instructed not to speak on the party’s behalf after making controversial comments linking protesting farmers to unrest in Bangladesh.
