India reports 1,34,154 COVID-19 cases and 2,887 deaths in last 24 hours as active caseload continues to drop

India's active COVID-19 tally continues to decline, even as 1,34,154 fresh cases were reported on Thursday morning. As per health Ministry data, 2,11,499 people were discharged, bringing the total number of active cases to a little more than 17.13 lakh. At the same time, 2,887 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

At the state level, active cases in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu remain close to the three lakh mark, while Maharashtra has now dropped down to a little more than two lakh active cases. With 1,43,795 active cases, Andhra Pradesh rounds out the list of states with more than one lakh active cases as of Thursday morning.
