New Delhi: The NDA government will not discriminate against anyone in the country on the basis of religion, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Friday.

“Minorities should have faith in our government. We will not discriminate against anyone in the name of religion or caste. We will ensure justice to everyone. Injustice will not happen to anyone,” he told a press conference.

Singh was replying to a question on alleged incarceration of many “innocent” Muslim youth in terror charges in different jails in the country.

“If you have any information about anyone specific, please let me know. I will inquire into it,” he told the reporter who asked the question.

Singh’s predecessor Sushilkumar Shinde last year had asked state governments to ensure that Muslims were not arrested wrongly or with mala fide intentions in terror cases.
