Hours after tweeting that he had contacted COVID-19, sources say that the former President Pranab Mukherjee has undergone surgery. Earlier in the day he had mentioned that he was on a hospital visit for a separate procedure.
According to a PTI update, Mukherjee had undergone a successful brain surgery for removal of a clot. Reportedly, he is in the Army's R&R hospital on ventilator support.
