Guwahati: Construction of the memorial to music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika at Jalukbari on the outskirts of Guwahati has been directed to be expedited by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today.
The Chief Minister instructed the Cultural Affairs department to start the work on the memorial without any further delay, official sources said.
“Work on the prestigious project must start at once. There should not be any further delay,” he said.
The State Government has earmarked Rs 10 crore for construction of the memorial, the sources said.
