Coronavirus updates from India & world: Total number of positive cases rises to 918

On Friday, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das announced a repo rate cute, reverse repo rate cut and other monetary policies to keep the economy afloat that has currently been hit by coronavirus outbreak. Earlier, the government on Thursday announced that the ban on international flight operations to India has been extended to April 14.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has confirmed that the total number of coronavirus positive cases rises to 873 which includes foreign nationals as at 9.30 AM. Moreover, 79 people have been cured/discharged, and 19 deaths have been reported so far.

People queue up outside shops to purchase essential items as government relaxes curfew between 10 am and 6 pm in Chandigarh.

Earlier, it was decided that only one persom from every house will be allowed to walk to the market close by during the relaxation period to buy essentional items. This move comes as relief to residents as there were struggling to buy essential items after the lockdown. Prices of food items had been hiked and people were forced to stand in long queues.

To make the patient cabin, middle berth has been removed from one side and all three berths have been removed in front of the patient's berth.
