New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed that the BJP government is planning to demolish all the unauthorised colonies in the national capital where about 70 per cent of the city’s population resides. Kejriwal alleged that the BJP is planning to demolish these colonies and give the land to builders who would then construct luxurious apartments on it. “About 70 per cent of the city’s population resides in unauthorised colonies, where will they go? We have been pressured by the Centre not to invest money in unauthorised colonies and we have also been told by government officials that the BJP is planning to demolish all unauthorised colonies once it comes to power,” he told reporters.
“If you want their plans to fail, then strengthen our hands then vote for us,” he said. He also claimed that the sealing drive in Delhi was done to bring Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Meanwhile, Regularisation of unauthorised colonies, construction of super specialty hospitals and multi-level parking were some of the promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party in its manifesto for West Delhi. AAP’s West Delhi candidate Balbir Singh Jakhar said his prime focus after becoming MP will be to raise voice in the parliament for Delhi’s full statehood.
“People living on rent would not be benefitted by it and they would be rendered homeless,” he said. Kejriwal claimed that Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari himself admitted it that the BJP plans to demolish all unauthorised colonies. No immediate response was available from the BJP.
Delhi CM attacks Gandhi siblings for holding public railies in Delhi
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi should focus their election campaign in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh instead of “wasting time” in Delhi.Speaking to the media, he said: “Priyanka Gandhi should not waste her time in Delhi. The Congress will lose its deposit here. Instead, she should campaign in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh where the fight is between the Congress and BJP.”
Kejriwal said Priyanka Gandhi was holding rallies in Uttar Pradesh against the SP-BSP combine and in Delhi against the AAP. And Rahul Gandhi was wasting time in Delhi. As the Congress President he should focus on the other states, he said.
