Jaipur: The Rajasthan government revised its ex-gratia relief to next of the kin of the five Pulwama martyrs—Roshitash Lamba from Jaipur, Narayan Lal Gurjar from Rajsamand, Jeet Ram from Bharatpur, Bhagirath Singh from Dholpur and Hemraj Meena from Kota district. Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, said that the state government under the revised package would give Rs50 lakh to the martyrs’ families and will have an option to opt for 25 bighas of agricultural land in the command area or for a Rajasthan Housing Board’s house worth Rs25 lakh.
One member of the martyr’s family would be offered a job and their children would be given a scholarship and the family would be able to travel free in the state road transport corporation bus. This is the biggest ex-gratia announced by any government. The martyrs were laid to rest in their respective villages on Saturday. Gehlot said the state government would name either a school or a hospital building in memory of the martyrs.
