Panaji: Actor-producer Saif Ali Khan has earned the ire of an anti-tobacco watchdog with the posters of his upcoming film ‘Go Goa Gone’ where he is seen smoking a cigar.

National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) has asked Khan, who is acting in the film as well as producing it, to withdraw the posters.

“You are a well-informed gentleman, and I need not mention to you that this action of their idol would be imitated by millions of your followers, eventually pushing most of them in the jaws of cancer and a premature, early death,” NOTE General Secretary Shekhar Salkar said.

“Remember Saifji, these millions fervently prayed for a speedy recovery during your recent illness of chest pain.

“Do you intend to preach death to them? Do you wish to support the cause, which would generate thousands of widows and orphans?  We know that after your recent chest pain illness you have quit smoking,” he says.

The film, touted as India’s first ‘Zombie comedy’, is expected to release in May.
