New Delhi : Branding the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament as a ‘win-win’ session for the country, the government on Friday expressed optimism that all decisions related to the nation’s progress and development will be chalked out through a ‘constructive’ debate.

“We look at the Winter Session as a win-win session for the nation as a constructive debate has already begun in the Parliament. We feel that the questions related to the nation’s development will take a positive course through constructive debate and it is a good thing for the parliamentary proceedings,” Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told ANI here.

He added that the ‘beauty’ of the Indian Constitution lay in the fact that the people could accept or reject the statement made during a debate in the Parliament.

In a move aimed at reaching out to the opposition to discuss the smooth functioning of the Parliament and bring an end to the impasse over the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Congress president Sonia Gandhi and his predecessor Dr. Manmohan Singh for tea.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had earlier said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to speak to everyone to forge a consensus on the GST Bill. Prime Minister Modi will intervene and conclude the debate in the Parliament on the Constitution today on the second day of the Winter Session.
