New Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has hinted that National Security Adviser Ajit Doval played a major role in attempting to topple his Congress government.
Rawat, however, did not directly name Doval, as he said that he does not have solid evidence against him to prove that he played a major role in luring the rebel MLAs.
He told ETV News Network head Jagdeesh Chandra in a recent interview that Doval’s son, Shaurya, met one of the Congress MLAs prior to the floor test in the Uttarakhand Assembly.

The Chief Minister further said that the Supreme Court’s ruling on Uttarakhand has taught a lesson to the Centre, and added that the BJP leadership will now think twice before using Article 356 of the Constitution in future.
Rawat wondered as to what corruption took place in Uttarakhand that a situation arose to issue summons to him. He also said that he would not go in for early polls in Uttarakhand despite the fact that he would win with convincing majority in the hill state.
“The people of Uttarakhand have suffered a lot in the last two months,” Harish Rawat said, adding his top most priority now is to take the state ahead on the development path.
Commenting on the sting operations launched against him, Rawat said that he may be even arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in this regard.

He also expressed his disappointment over the fact that he was called for questioning by the CBI in Delhi a day prior to the floor test.
Rawat said the summons were issued against him when he was unwell, adding a senior citizen is quizzed at his residence as per the provision in the CBI.
Dubbing the sting operation against him as a conspiracy, Rawat said that the Centre had a political agenda based on vendetta.
Rawat was restored as Uttarakhand Chief Minister on Wednesday, almost 46 days after he was ousted by the Centre through a recommendation for the imposition of President’s rule. The Supreme Court putting its stamp of approval on the need for a floor test in the state assembly came as a much needed relief to Rawat and his Congress Party.
