Mumbai: On Friday night, the Social Service branch raided a bar near Shivsagar hotel at Saki Vihar road at Saki Naka. Three girls have been rescued including 2 minors. Both the minors were 17-years-old.
According to the Social Service branch, one lady pimp was arrested during the raid. Cash of Rs 5,500 and a mobile phone worth Rs 5,000 were seized from the accused. The raid was conducted at 9:30 pm.
According to a Social Service branch official, “A case has been registered under Section 366 (A)(Procuration of a minor girl) , Section 370(1) (Buying or disposing of any person as slave) and Section 370(5)(Exploitation of a trafficked person) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 4 (Punishment for living on the earnings of prostitution) and Section 5 (Procuring, inducing or taking a person for the sake of prostitution) of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Section 4 and Section 8 (sexual assault) and Section 17 (abetment) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act( POCSO).
The Social Service branch also conducted a raid on Friday evening at Antop hill at a bar on plot number 2 at Jai Shankar Yagnik road at Sardarnagar.
The Antop hill police had received a tip off regarding illegal prostitution activities being conducted. The police posed as decoy customers and raided the place. Three girls were rescued out of which two were minors. Three pimps were arrested.
“A case has been registered under Section 366 (A) (Procuration of a minor girl), Section 370 (1) (3)(Buying or disposing of any person as slave and Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3, 4 and 5 of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Section 4 and Section 8 (sexual assault) and Section 17 (abetment )of the POSCO Act.”
