Sharif likely to propose new measures to India at UNGA for defusing border tensions

Karachi : Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to propose new measures to India in order to bring tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) and working boundary under control during his address at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly. According to The Express Tribune, a senior official who has seen the draft of the prime minister’s speech confirmed the prime minister’s plans. Sharif is expected to suggest better coordination mechanisms to avoid frequent ceasefire violations. Sharif will also talk about Pakistan’s policy of a peaceful neighbourhood in his address.
