Tirunelveli: Four dams including Kundaru, Ramanathi, Kadana Nathi and Karuppanathi reached full level following heavy rains in the Western Ghat area, officials said. Dams in Papanaasam, Servallaru and Manimuthaaru had been closed. The entire inflow in the Kadana Nadhi, Karuppanathi and Ramanathi were being discharged. Almost all the lakes in Tuticorin and Tiruneveli districts also became full due to continuous rains.

The drinking water projects at Mannar Kovil, Bramhadesam, Vakaikulam and Kakkanalr got damaged due to heavy rains. Tourists werenot allowed to take bath in the Manimutharu falls Kodumudi Yaaru dam (max level 50ft) would be full in a day or two. In Rameswaram the bathing ghat at Agnitheertham and Pier of ther fishermen Jetty got submerged. The fishermen had been warned not to venture into the sea today.
