Kanyakumari: Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari will lay foundation stone for four-laning of National Highway-47 from Karodu to Villukuri in Kanyakumari today.
Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan will also be present on the occasion which will be held at Marthandam in the district. The four laning of national highways at a cost of Rs. 2,766 crore will improve the road facilities in Kannya Kumari.
Four laning of NH 47 Karodu to Villukuri at a cost of Rs. 1274 crore. NH47 B from Nagercoil to Kavalkinaru at a cost of Rs. 1042 crore will be implemented to ease the traffic.
