New Delhi : The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Sunday said that the Indian Government’s foreign policy strategy had to be blamed for the cancellation of the NSA-level talks that were scheduled to be held in New Delhi today and tomorrow.

NCP leader Tariq Anwar told ANI here, “Pakistan did not want this talk to happen. There is there is some failure from our foreign ministry as well. The agenda must have been decided before the talks. I think this is failure of the strategy of our foreign ministry.” Anwar added, “People were looking forward to it as high level talks were about to take place. So people expected that there will be an effective outcome from it, so even America must have hopes. But I think the foreign ministry of both the nations did not pay proper heed to these issues.”

Pakistan called off the NSA-level talks with India late on Saturday night. A statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office said the proposed talks will not serve any purpose if conducted on the basis of what it called “preconditions” laid down by India.
