The surprise rains in Mumbai this morning has seen Twitter trolls with #Mumbairains tag go viral.
Mumbaikars woke up to a pleasant Friday morning, as cold winds followed by a light shower brought relief to part of Mumbai suburbs from an otherwise humid climate.
Sporadic rainfall was witnessed in parts of Borivali-to-Lower Parel, accompanied with some thundering in Santacurz area.
According to Skymet weather forecast, parts of the neighbouring state Gujarat had received some rainfall in the last couple of days, for today they had predicted isolated rainfall in parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada region.
Rainfall is also expected in parts of Delhi and North India, which could end its five-month long dry spell.
The reason for the unexpected rainfall, is due to cyclone circulation over Jharkhand, West Bengal and North Odisha, reports Skymet.
