New Delhi: Congress Party on Monday on condemned the Shiv Sena protest against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan’s visit to India in a bid to convince the BCCI to confirm the bilateral series between Indian and Pakistan in December.

“Law and order has been broken down in Maharashtra. The president of India should take cognizance of the situation. This is not the manner to behave like this with somebody who is a guest in the country,” Congress leader Manish Tewari said.

“It is very unfortunate that Mumbai has been reduced to a ‘mobocracy’, first you had an incident with Ghulam Ali, then Khurshid Mehmud Kasuri’s book launch and now the incident with shahayar khan .This is Condemnable,” he added.

A meeting scheduled today between Indian and Pakistan cricket board was canceled after Shiv Sena workers stormed the Mumbai office of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to protest the meeting.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Shahryar Khan and the head of the PCB’s executive committee Najam Sethi arrived in India on Sunday in a bid to convince the BCCI to confirm the India-Pakistan cricket series in December.
