Karachi : Islamic State (IS) militant Mohammed Emwazi, popularly known as jihadi John, who appeared in many IS’ beheading videos, is believed to have been expelled from Tanzania for being drunk and abusive on a 10-hour flight from Amsterdam back in 2009. According to the Express Tribune, the 26-year-old was reportedly denied entry into Dar es Salaam.

Tanzanian Home Affairs Minister Mathias Chikwake said that the pilot of the KML flight had issued a warning to immigration staff alerting them about a troublesome trio that included Emwazi. Emwazi was accompanied by 27-year-old Ali Adorus and 23-year-old Marcel Schrodl, when they were detained in Tanzania in 2009. Chikwake said that the trio refused to tell them why they had come to Tanzania.
