Hope Mahatma Gandhi’s message of tolerance guides us: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti on Friday said he hoped Mahatma Gandhi’s message of compassion, tolerance and harmony guides the nation.  On Mahatma Gandhi’s 146th birth anniversary, he tweeted: “Remembering Bapu on #GandhiJayanti. May his message of compassion, tolerance and harmony guides us as a people and a nation.”  The father of the nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869, to Karamchand Gandhi and Putlibai in Gujarat. Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday is also observed as the International Day of Non-Violence all over the world. Rahul Gandhi also paid tributes to former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary.
