Gurdaspur attack: Vigilance increased on inter-state border

Jaipur: Following the terror attack in Punjab’s border district of Gurdaspur, Rajasthan’s DGP Manoj Bhatt said on Monday that they have increased the vigilance on inter-state border and issued alert to all the districts.

“Intelligence Branch and ATS Branch have issued alert to all our districts and range IGs. We have increased our vigil on the border. The teams have been made alert and they are in place .We get regular inputs, so we keep sharing information with the concerned agencies and our field formations,” Bhatt told ANI here.

Meanwhile, the security has been enhanced across Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the Gurdaspur terror attack, which has so far claimed the lives of 10 people, including six civilians.

Security has also been beefed up at the North and South Block. The Special Forces team has reached the location of the terror attack, which has been cordoned off. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently holding a high-level meeting in Parliament with Union Ministers Manohar Parrikar, Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu.
