Muzaffarnagar: At least eight persons were injured when a group of villagers pelted stones on a marriage party belonging to another community over playing of music at Paldi village in the district.

Trouble started last evening when some villagers objected to playing of loud music at a marriage ceremony here.

After a heated exchange of words, a group of villagers started pelting stones at the marriage party belonging to another community, leaving eight persons injured, police said today.

A case has been registered and 12 people have been arrested in this connection, they said.

Tension prevailed in the village and security has been tightened with extra police force deployed.
