‘Does government want rupee value to reach Advani’s age’, asks Congress

New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi led- government over global credit rating firm Moody dubbing the rural economy as a ‘credit negative and asked whether the Centre wants the rupee value to reach Bharatiya Janata Party veteran Lal Krishna Advani’s age. “The rupee value has crossed Finance Minister’s age and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s age. Does the government want it to reach Advani ji’s age?” Congress spokesperson Ajoy Kumar told ANI. According to Moody’s global credit research, the rating agency has maintained that while the participants were optimistic about a 7.5 percent GDP growth for the fiscal 2016, its polling results ‘pointed to some disappointment amongst the audience with regard to the pace of reform under the administration of Prime Minister Modi, and increasing concerns about the risk of policy stagnation. Specifically, almost half of the poll respondents identified sluggish reform momentum as the greatest risk to India’s macroeconomic story’.
