Asansol: One CPI (M) worker dead in clash between TMC-CPI (M)

Asansol: A CPI (M) worker was killed in a clash between the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers in Sidhopur Baghdiha village under Jamuria police station in Asansol.

14 people, including six TMC and eight CPI (M) supporters were injured in the violent clash. The injured were rushed to Asansol district hospital where a CPI (M) supporter, Hiralal Bauri was declared brought dead by the doctors.

The clash broke out late on Monday night over the issue of increase in wages of paddy field labourers. A movement was launched by the CPI (M) workers in the village to increase the wages from Rs 150 to Rs 180. Tension prevailed in the area after the incident.
