Yet another venture by Chef Ishijyot Surri, Miniya-Turk offers a mix of authentic Italian and Turkish cuisine. The menu, curated by Chef Ishijyot Surri, offers authentic delights such as Hummus, Kuru, Pide, Pilaf, Kebabs, etc from Turkey to Pizza, Zuppa, Insalata, Pasta, Risotto from Italy along with some lip-smacking desserts.
We started our epicurean journey with the Turkish appetisers Lamb Kibbeh (Moroccan style marinated lamb kebabs) and the Turkish speciality Chicken Shish Taouk. While the kebabs were a delight, we were a little disappointed with the Hummus platter which included seven different kinds of hummus and dips served with pita bread and falafel, which were a little too dry.
Moving on to the main course, we opted for the Chicken Schnitzel (chicken breast fry, which was too dry—this should have been served with some sauce), Grilled Prawn with Lime and Parsley Olive Oil Sauce (this is a must-have).
Other must-haves are the Buryan Chicken (Turkish rice served with chicken) and the Italian Risotto Con Pollo e Fungi (chicken and mushroom risotto mixed in dollops of cheese). You can douse this all with cocktails like Smoked Izmir Margarita, Antalya Queen, Bodrum Sour and Istanbul Swing.
End your Turkish and Italian journey with delectable sweet dishes like the Turkish Baklava (sugar induced layered sweet with crushed pistachio) and Tiramisu, Crème Brûlée and Double Layered Chocolate Mousse from the Italian menu.
After the end of each course, you are served with a non-sweet Turkish tea to help refresh your taste-buds so that you can enjoy the next dish without any leftover flavour from the previous fare.
