After creating much hype with Shahid Kapoor’s look in Vishal Bhardwaj’s much awaited third film ‘Haider’ as a part of the Shakespearean trilogy, the makers have now released the trailer of the film which gives a glimpse of the good-boy-gone-bad Shahid Kapoor along with actors Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Shraddha Kapoor.

Set against the unrest and snowy landscape of tumultuous land of Kashmir, the trailer looks both dark and chilling. Buzz is that the film has been shot where no Hindi film is ever shot before. What’s more Shahid Kapoor, who is playing the titular character of Haider in the film, seems to give an intense performance in it.

‘Haider’ is based on the Shakespearean play ‘Hamlet’. During the trailer launch of the film, Shahid revealed that he found the role of Hamlet to be the most difficult role till date. The actor even said that he had to undergo immense emotional surrender to get into the skin of the character. The actor also confessed that since he didn’t want the pressure of filmmaker Vishal’s remuneration or his to hamper the film, hence he decided not to charge for it! “When Vishal casts, an actor thinks ki band bajnewali hai… itni ke tum sochte ho ki maine acting kyu ki,” Shahid said jokingly during the event.

‘Haider’ tells the tale of a man who is out to avenge the death of his father, murdered by Haider’s uncle. The role has been played by the very versatile Kay Kay Menon.

In the film, Tabu plays Shahid’s mother, the helpless “half-widow” married to her late husband’s killer, and has a few shades of grey in this film. Talking about her role in the film Tabu said that she loves the character of conflicted feelings and that’s what attracted her to the film.

Director-composer Vishal Bharadwaj said that there are 10 songs in the film and album where the audience would get to hear both Tabu and Shraddha crooning the songs, which have a flavour of Kashmir.

Meanwhile, ‘Ek Villain’ actress Shraddhaplays the role ofArshia, a reporter who falls for Haider. Through the film bothShahid and Shraddha would be seen on-screen for the first time. It’s believed that in ‘Haider’ too Shraddha would be seen trying to bring positivity out of the negativity just like her previous films ‘Ashiqui 2’ and ‘Ek Villain’.

‘Haider’ also has Irrfan Khan in a special appearance and is slated to hit screens by October 2.
