We had reported earlier that amidst the ensemble cast of ‘Bharat‘, the film will feature Satish Kaushik in the role of a navy officer. It is a special film for the actor since he will be reuniting with Salman Khan after the latter’s film ‘Tere Naam’ way back in 2003. The actor has already started shooting for the film in which he plays a small yet pivotal role. Here’s the first look of his character from ‘Bharat’.

The picture showcases Satish Kaushik in the uniform of merchant navy officers. And if sources are to be believed the actor took special training and that he even met real-life officers for some hands-on learning. Satish confirmed these details adding that it was his friend Rakesh Gupta’s brother Ashok Gupta who helped him for the role.

“I would often meet him when he was in the city to understand what the role entails and the challenges that one faces as a merchant navy official,” he said. He also added that he realised that the biggest challenge was the long duration one spends in the sea and how they overcome homesickness.

Furthermore, he went on to speak about the moment of pride that he felt when he donned the navy uniform. Satish respects our officers immensely and when he was approached for this role, he was truly overwhelmed. Speaking about that special time, Satish maintained that he felt like a different person once he was in the uniform.

“I always like to get into the skin of the characters I play in films, and this one was really special. I am glad that I got to learn so much about the field. I delivered my 100 per cent and hope that my effort will be liked by the audiences,” he concluded.

Featuring Katrina Kaif as the leading lady, ‘Bharat’ also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Grover amongst others. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is expected to hit the big screen during Eid 2019.
