With the academic results declared and summer vacations underway, preparations are in full swing for the new school session starting June 15.
As part of these efforts, the education department is set to distribute nearly two lakh textbooks to students across 340 schools in Panvel taluka under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
"The textbooks—covering Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, and English mediums for Grades 1 to 8—have already arrived at V.K. High School in Panvel, which is serving as the central book depot. These books will be distributed to municipal, aided, unaided, and private schools," said an official.
Orders for the books were placed based on actual student enrollment, ensuring accurate distribution. Subject experts will oversee the center-wise dispatch of books, which will then be delivered to school principals and center heads." The goal is to ensure that every student receives their complete set of textbooks on the very first day of school," adds the official.
The agency responsible for printing and supply, has coordinated closely with the education department to make timely delivery possible. Despite previous changes to textbook distribution methods, the department has returned to its original system to streamline the process.
This large-scale distribution ensures that over 53,000 students in the taluka will have their learning materials in hand as the academic year begins.
