The highly-anticipated match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is here. The clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan is going to be held on Sunday, June 16 at the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester. However, since the weather conditions has not favoured this World Cup, there lies dark clouds too for the match against these two teams. The weather condition for Sunday’s match forecasts rains might pay a visit and ruin the game. This could result in a loss of 137.5 crores rupees as reported by the Star Sports. The matches are a hotspot for advertisers, even in this World Cup - the advertising rate per seconds has been sold at a premium of 50 percent.
If play does take place, this would be the 7th meeting between the two nations in the ICC Cricket World Cups. There are many records that have been made in these clashes.

1. They first played against each other at the 1992 Benson & Hedges World Cup at Australia. The match was played at Sydney Cricket ground and India had opted to bat first. Sachin Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 54 runs off 62 balls along with the help of Ajay Jadeja, Kapil Dev and India put on a score of 216/7. Pakistan had a shaky start, but opener Aamir Sohail and Javed Miandad kept them in the chase. Miandad mockingly mimicked wicket-keeper Kiran More's appealing by leaping up and down. Ironically, Miandad took 110 balls to score 40, leaving his colleagues with a tall order. Manoj Prabhakar along with Kapil Dev and Javagal Srinath took two wickets each restricting them to 173. Tendulkar was named as the Man of the Match. India defeated Pakistan, but Pakistan went on to win their first World Cup this year.

2. Next, they met in the 2nd Quarter final of the Wills World Cup, 1996 at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. This was the last match of Javed Miandad as he finally announced his retirement from the cricket. Once again, India won the toss and chose to bat first. Navjot Singh Sidhu played one of his best knocks at the World Cups, scoring 93 runs off 115 balls. Coupled with Ajay Jadeja’s quick runs, India managed to give a target of 287/8. Pakistan’s opening was thunderous with Saeed Anwar’s 48 and Aamer Sohail’s 55. However, Venkatesh Prasad’s and Anil Kumble’s three wickets each restricted the opponents to 248/9. India won the match by 39 runs and Sidhu was awarded Man of the Match. This is game is most remembered for Prasad sending off Sohail.

3. Their next meet was at Manchester in the ICC World Cup 1999. India and Pakistan's armies were engaged in the Kargil battle when the two sides met in the World Cup. Security was intense -- but there were three arrests, nine ejections, and one Indian flag burned during a scuffle.
The rival fans, waving flags, blowing whistles and beating drums, created a passionate atmosphere unimaginable in English cricket. India's batsmen, though, were below their aggressive best. Tendulkar blazed briefly, passing 8,000 one-day international runs as he dominated the early stages. Rahul Dravid (61) along with Mohammed Azharuddin (59) ensure a decent target of 228. Saeed Anwar launched his assault with 6 fours. However, other than him, only Inzamam-ul-Haq managed to cross the 40-run mark. Venkatesh Prasad took over and knocked down Pakistan, finishing with 5/27. Pakistan thus suffered their third successive defeat while skipper Azharuddin won all the three India-Pakistan matches in World Cup history till then. Venkatesh Prasad was the man of the match.
4. The fourth meet saw Pakistan post their highest-ever total against India in the World Cup tournaments. They scored 273, with Saeed Anwar’s ton at Centurion, South Africa in 2003. Pakistan were excited to win this match. But Sachin Tendulkar’s quick 98 runs off 75 balls gave India a solid start. Then, the middle order batsmen -- Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh -- played mature knocks easing to their fourth win against the hapless bowling attack. Before the match, Shoaib Akhtar had said he had developed a special delivery for Tendulkar. It obviously did not work.
5. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is the most memorable tournament for Indian fans of the current generation. First, Indian won its second World Cup after 1983 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. And secondly, India defeated Pakistan in the 2nd semifinal. The match was held at the Mohali stadium and then Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was invited for the match by then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The match was filled with drama as India chose to bat first. After Virender Sehwag’s flashing start, Tendulkar played a fantastic knock scoring 85 runs. Sachin was however dropped 4 times, which clearly depicted the poor fielding skills and lack of patience and discipline from Pakistan. Wahab Riaz ended with a five-for as India had a rather healthy 260/9 on the board. Bowlers from the Indian side managed to build the pressure throughout the game. Munaf Patel and Yuvraj Singh were among the wickets but it was Harbhajan Singh who changed the game by taking out Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi. India won the match by 29 runs and Tendulkar was named the Man of the Match.

6. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 was held in Australia-New Zealand. India and Pakistan faced against each other at Adelaide Oval. Nearly 41,000 fans crammed a vibrant Adelaide Oval, predominantly Indians. The match was not exactly a classic, but had almost everything one could hope for in an India-Pakistan encounter. Virat Kohli scored his 22nd ODI hundred. Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina scored crucial fifties adding the total to 300/7. This was India’s highest total against Pakistan in the World Cup.
