Mumbai : Reliance Communications Ltd is likely to have started another round of war in voice tariffs in India, with the launch of a new scheme offering all calls at 40 paise per minute.
The scheme, which would require a special recharge of 45 rupees per month, also removes all national roaming charges, including those on incoming calls. At present, base tariffs are at around 75 paise per month.
RComm also unveiled two post-paid schemes with a rent of 350 and 599 rupees per month excluding taxes. The schemes come with free bundled call minutes, 3G data and SMS.
“Reliance Communications’ customers can now enjoy roaming services across the country without worrying about any additional charges for utilising voice and data services at a roaming location,” the company said. RComm shares ended at Rs 153.85, up 1.3%, on the NSE. -Cogencis
