Panchayat polls to be held in three phases

RATLAM : The three tier Panchayat elections will be held in the district in three phases. According to programme of election released on Tuesday, elections will be held in Alote on January 13, Sailana and Bajna on January 31 and Ratlam ,Jaora and Piploda on February.19. For the polling of Panch and sarpanch posts ballot papers will be used while EVMs will be used for the Janpad and Zila Panchayat members. Nomination papers will be received from December 22 which to December 29. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on December 30. The last date of withdrawing nomination papers is January 1. The counting of the votes for the Panch and Sarpanch elections will take place on the same day soon after polling is completed. The counting of votes for District and Janpad Panchayat members will be held for Alote on January 16, for Bajna and Sailana on Feb.4, and for Ratlam,Jaora and Piploda on Feb.22.
