Lifetime tax for heavy vehicles proposed

Bhopal: A meeting between transport minister Bhupendra Singh and transporters took place here on Monday. Transport minister Singh discussed the problems being faced by transporters. A proposal regarding lifetime tax on heavy vehicles was also presented. Presently, heavy vehicles have to pay tax quarterly.

The participants at the meeting were willing to accept the proposal.

If the proposal is cleared, it would benefit truck owners across the state. It would relieve them of problem of delay in depositing tax and give them facility to pay tax in one installment.

Deposition of tax on heavy vehicles would also help the state government and in office works.

Principal secretary Pramod Agarwal, transport commissioner Sanjay Chaudhary and divisional deputy transport commissioner GM Pathak were also present in the meeting.
