Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A Dalit man was allegedly beaten to death in Rajgarh district. The family members of the deceased placed the body at the police station and staged a demonstration the whole night, the police said on Friday.

The incident took place in Banapur village. SDOP Sarangarh, Arvind Singh, said the family of the deceased, Rahul Verma, 25, was beaten by two persons Rakesh Patidar and Arjun Patidar over some issue on Tuesday. On the next day, Rahul was taken to a hospital after he complained of stomach pain.

However, during the course of treatment, he died on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday. The doctors conducted a post-mortem and handed over the body to the family. The family members then reached the Telan police station along with the body on Thursday night and staged a demonstration.
