BHOPAL : The top leaders in the Bharatiya Janata Party may be playing cautious with former Minister and accused in Vyapam scam, Laxmikant Sharma but other leaders in the party have started extending their support to him.
Sharma, during his Rajgarh tour on Saturday, was given a warm welcome by BJP MLAs including Amar Singh Yadav, Hajarilal Dangi, District Panchayat President Yashwant Gurjar, former District President Raghunandan Sharma and the other party workers. BJP leaders organised special prayer and religious rituals at temple of Goddess Jalapa for his coming out clean.
MLA Yadav said Sharma was in-charge minister of their district for a long time and he has cordial relations with Sharma. Yadav said chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chauhan have to decide on Sharma’s comeback in the party.
Earlier, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, former co-organisation general secretary Bhagawatsharan Mathur, MP Raghunandan Sharma, former minister Ajay Vishnoi and Vishnudutt Sharma had issued statements in favour of Sharma.
It is being considered as an important development as the BJP leaders from Vidisha and other districts are coming out in support of Sharma.
The BJP leaders are regularly meeting with Sharma after his release on bail after spending 18 months in jail in Vyapam scam.
