Bhopal: The initial response of people to Jan Ashirwaad Yatra, launched by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan eying assembly polls, has elated the BJP. Before the beginning of the Yatra, there was a sort of concern in the BJP over how people would respond to the it.

Chouhan, who began his Yatra from Ujjain has reached Ratlam via Badnawar of Dhar district. The second round of the Yatra would begin from Thursday from Maihar. It was said that the condition of BJP was not good in the aftermath of firing incident in Mandsaur. The support received from all sections of the society in the Yatra has made the BJP leaders happy.

Meanwhile, Congress is keenly watching the developments of the Yatra. The public support generated through the Yatra by Chouhan has made Congress uneasy. Congress’ working president Jitu Patwari is also going to launch ‘Janjagran Yatra’ from Tarana from Wednesday to counter Jan Ashirwaad Yatra. The Yatra-led by Patwari, has become a prestige point for the Congress.

Though Chouhan’s Yatra reached Ratlam late by six hours on Sunday but there was huge public gathering. Congress had been alleging the BJP of managing public in the programmes of Chief Minister. The responsibility of gathering people in the Yatra has been assigned to the BJP workers. Congress has again leveled allegations of managing people in the Yatra but a sort of nervousness has also begun inside the party. If the Yatra, which would conclude after 55 days, continues to get the same response then it may bring problems to the Congress.

Congress stalwarts namely Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Digvijaya Singh have not yet announced any campaign for publicity. Congress workers are demoralized over their party not starting its publicity spree.

Congress state president Kamal Nath, commenting on Jan Ashirwaad Yatra on Monday, tweeted that Shivraj was taking out Jan Ashirwaad Yatra, ignoring his responsibility of running the state. Nath also wrote that he would tell the reality to the people.

BJP spokesman Rajnish Agarwal said Congress could only do the job of issuing statements on social media. Agarwal said the response from public to the Chief Minister had exposed the reality of Congress’ rhetoric.

Sadhna Singh giving support

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is getting support of his wife, Sadhna Singh in his Yatra. She will be accompanying Chouhan during the whole course of the Yatra. Sadhna, interacts with women and helps in creating positive atmosphere in people towards the party. She also talks to women during Chouhan’s address from the Rath.
