Universities from Madhya Pradesh have failed to find place in the list of India’s top-100 institutions whose rankings were released by National Institutional Ranking Framework on Monday. However, as many as 17 higher education institutions (HEIs) from the state, including seven from Bhopal, managed to secure place in the rankings conducted in nine different categories.
Among them, four each are from Management and Engineering categories and three from Overall category, two each from University category and Architecture and one each from Law and Pharmacy categories. No institute could find place in the rankings for College and Medical categories. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (Indore), which slipped down from the band of 101-150 institutions to the band of 151-200 institutions in 2018, again returned to the band of 101-150 institutions this year.
Hari Singh Gaur University (Sagar) and Jaypee University (Guna), which shared the band of 151-200 with DAVV last year, could not find place in this year’s rankings. However, Rabindranath Tagore University (Raisen) made a surprise entry into the bracket of 151-200 institutions. Besides, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal figured in rankings in three differe nt categories viz Overall, Engineering, and Architecture Categories.
While it retained its position in Overall category, it slipped down from 55th position of last year to 62nd potion. However, it Architecture category it entered the ranking list to secure 14th position. School of Planning and Research, Bhopal, secured sixth position in the rankings.
