BHOPAL: “Kadaknath is very tasty and in the whole state the demand of Kadaknath is increasing. The government is promoting poultry farming of the bird,” said animal husbandry minister Antar Singh Arya while replying in the demand for grant debate session in assembly, on Monday.
Arya presented the annual budget for 2017-18 for the department at Rs 967.88 crore, for fisheries Rs 87.68 crore and for Gram Udyog Rs 249.26 crore. Almost every MLA raised the question of the rehabilitation of stray animals, which are causing accidents and also problems for farmers and other people.
Congress MLA Mahendra Kalukhera raised the issue about the participation of the private milk suppliers and ignoring the milk cooperative members. He alleged in Ujjain Milk Federation one member became the president of the federation, by supplying milk in one day of whole one year. He asked that only genuine milk producers should be given priority in participating in the milk cooperative societies.
BJP, MLA Bahadur Singh also supported Kalukhera’s statement and asked that in the whole state milk cooperative societies should be formed. The MLAs also alleged the milk producers were not getting appropriate cost of their products.
The minister replied that presently in the state 33 per cent villages were having milk societies and in remaining 59 per cent villages the work was under progress. He also said people who were providing cow milk were getting Rs 32 per litre and buffalo milk producers were getting Rs 36 per litre.
