Bhopal: BEd and DEd holders are in high hope since 2016 when the minister of state for school education Deepak Joshi claimed that the PEB is ready to conduct the teacher’s recruitment exams. However it seems implausible that the recruitment exam for around 40,000 ‘Samvida Shala Shikchak’ teachers for the government schools will be conducted any soon given the slow pace of decision making in state government.
The government is yet to decide whether to appoint ‘Samvida Shala Shikchak’, on contract or as regular employees. The PEB exam controller ASK Bhadoria said “Till date the government have not issued any letter and have given rule book for the eligibility criteria for the grade-1, grade-II and grade-III recruitment of teachers.”
He further added that PEB can conduct the exam within 60 to 90 days and also can release the result in a month time, once the rule book is received. However the minister reiterated that “the issue of Athithi Sikchak and merging of Adhyapak Samvarg in the school education department is in process, the recruitment notification will be released soon”.
2011 Recruitment in numbers
The last recruitment was conducted in the year 2011, in which the recruitment of grad-II and III was conducted. The Vyapam had conducted the recruitment and 16,92,886 applicants had filed the application and 15,78,531had appeared in the exam.
The dilemma
According to confirm sources the education directorate is prepared for the exam. However, the fix is that when the government is merging the contractual teachers into the regular posts then what is the need for holding ‘Samvida Shala Shikchak’ exam.
The government have decided that the grade-II teacher shall be merged into the assistant teacher post and the grade-III into the upper division teacher. The issue of Adhyapak Samvarg and Atithi Sikchak is also hindering the recruitment process.
