Bhopal: Nishatpura police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of thieves with arrest of two persons including a minor and recovered two stolen bikes, cash and two looted mobile phone from their possession. Acting on a tip off, police arrested a man identified as Fareed Qureshi (22) from near Mahaveer hotel and recovered a knife and a mobile phone from his possession.
When quizzed, Fareed confessed that on June 26, he along with his aide who is a minor, had snatched away mobile from a man near BGS two-wheeler showroom and then fled away on Pulsar bike. Later police nabbed the minor from Ghasipura area who accepted of robbing a bag carrying Rs 35,000 cash from Sanchi parlour owner near Bhopal Memorial hospital.
Later based on the information, provided by the two accused, police recovered two bikes, mobile phone and Rs 18,000 cash. The duo hail from Sironj in Vidisha district and from past six months they have been living here. The two formed a gang and started committing thefts and robbery in the city.
A case has been registered against the two. Fareed was presented in court from where he has been taken on police remand for interrogation, there is possibility that clues about more crimes would come up in further probe.
