BHOPAL: The State’s Economic Survey – 2016-17 claims that the State’s Gross Domestic Product (SGDP) grew by 12.21 per cent in comparison with 7.97 per cent in the last fiscal. The survey was laid on the table of the House on Tuesday.
The main contributors to SGDP are the Bhopal, Jabalpur, Barwani and Harda districts. The per capita income has also increased. In the year 2015-16 the per capita income was Rs 46,783, in the year 2015-16 it went up to Rs 62,334 and growing by 16.47 per cent it may increase to Rs 72,599 in the current year.
The citizens of Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain have earned more compared to other districts. The least income is reported in Jhabua, Umaria, Rewa, Tikamgarh and Mandla districts.
The area under cultivation in the state grew by 25 per cent. Milk production in the year 2014-15 was 10779 thousand MTs, which increased to 12148 thousand MTs in the year 2015-16. Similarly egg production also went up from 11776 lakh to 14414 lakh in the same period. Production of meat increased from 49,000 MTs in 2014-15 to 70 lakh MTs in 2015-16.
